Procedures & Fees

Upon being commissioned, Carol Oldenburg helps the client finalize decisions regarding formality, portrait size, clothing, poses and possible props that may be important to the subject.

Paying a deposit will lock in the current price for a year and place you in line on the artist’s portrait calendar. After the deposit, a photography shoot is scheduled. A number of composition photos are taken as well as many close-up shots for detail. These photos will assist Carol in creating your portrait.

The client and the artist review the photographs to choose the most appropriate one to create your lasting treasure. If additional photos are needed, a second photo session is scheduled and subsequently reviewed.  The portrait is then completed in the artist’s studio.

OIL PORTRAITS

Head and Shoulders: $2800 – Child – 14″ x 16″
Head and Shoulders: $4200 – Adult – 24 ” x 30 ”

1/2 Figure with Hands: $4500 – Child – 24″ x 30″
1/2 Figure with Hands: $6500 – Adult – 30″ x 40″

Full Figure: $10,000 – Child
Full Figure: $15,000 – Adult

  • Oil portraits are completed on double primed canvas. Pricing may vary with size and complexity of background.
  • Pricing does not include: framing, travel, lodging, shipping or sales tax.
  • $500 deposit will hold current pricing for up to a year for oil portraits. A deposit of 1/3 total sales price will be due at photography session. Balance due as scheduled between client and artist.

PASTEL WITH COLORED PENCILS

All Subjects (Head and Shoulders): $1500

Pastels are completed on 100% acid-free Rives BFK paper. Subjects are drawn life-size or slightly smaller. Price includes photography as above and does not include framing, travel, shipping or sales tax.

GRAPHITE PENCIL

Large Graphite Pencil: $1200
Small Graphite Pencil: $450
